Will is 1

We celebrated Will's birthday over the weekend! I took his clothes off hoping he would dig into his mini cake and make a huge mess, but he didn't. As you can tell, he thought carefully about whether he should have some or not. He decided not. We are having trouble getting him to eat (look at those skinny arms!) I will post more pictures soon!

partying with friends

We hosted a small pre-Halloween party at our home. The Kampsen and Klaphake families joined us. Addy just loved having friends over to play.

fall leaves

We had a great time picking apples and playing in the leaves. Grandma and Jodi came over to our house and we made 7 apple pies...yum! Will enjoys sitting in the cozy coupe. He turns the steering wheel and a motor-like noise. What a boy!

Jodi's first marathon

Jodi finished the Twin Cities Marathon in 4 hours and 41 minutes. She navigated through pouring rain and thousands of runners to complete the 26.2 mile course. Here are several pictures taken throughout the day. We made a sign that said "Go Jods" and waited to cheer her on at the 22 mile checkpoint. Mom and Dave waited at the finish line to congratulate her. Great job, Jodi! What's next for Jodi?...the Rock and Roll Marathon in San Antonio, Texas on November 16.

crawling, interrupted

Will is now crawling...that is if you count army crawling. He is so cute when he crawls, I just had to share this clip with you. And of course, Addison has a part in the clip also. She is nothing short of hilarious. And don't worry...we found her hat.

thank you uncle john

Uncle John bought Addy her first bike for her 2nd birthday. The bike was labeled 3+, so we put it aside thinking she would ride her tricycle through the summer. To our surprise, she took to the bike in a matter of a month or so after her birthday. She's been on it every chance she gets. Don't worry...she always wears a helmet.

video of will

I accidentally captured this short video clip of Will playing in the sand. Nothing special, but cute none-the-less.

mom and me

Thursday, August 21: We sent Nick on a fishing trip, sent Will to day care and spent the day together, just mom and Addy. After dropping Nick off in St. Cloud, we traveled to Maple Grove for shopping and lunch. We met up with Jodi and helped her pick out a suit jacket for her interview. We stopped at Target in Monticello for more shopping and supper. Our last stop was the Bounce Depot in Waite Park. We played for about and hour on giant inflatable slides, mazes and rock walls. It was a blast! What a fun day!

at grandpa and grandma hoffman's house

Having fun with cousin Ethan. Addy and Ethan found a chipmunk and fed it sunflower seeds. Grandpa holding Will.

at the lake

we had a great day at the cabin. Will played in the water and sand for the first time. He loved it! Although, I did have to keep him from eating the rocks and sand. Addy, as usual, is hilarious. I'm not sure what she was thinking while wearing the pink goggles in the photo. All I know is that she wore them around for what seemed to be the longest time. She really liked them. In the photo from left to right: William, 8 months, Wyatt, 2 months, and Addison, 28 months.

beached out

We recently stayed a couple nights at Mom and Dave's cabin on Lake Sylvia. Addy enjoyed playing in the sand and jumping off the dock. After a day at the beach, it was difficult to get her to smile. Sorry...the photos are sideways.

cousins

Will and Wyatt hanging out. Will is 6 1/2 months in these photos. Wyatt is less than 2 weeks old. Watch out, Will...you better be nice to Wyatt. He might be bigger than you in several months!

snack time

Here, Addy is enjoying one of her favorite snacks. Peanut butter on anything is guaranteed to be eaten. So what's new in Addy's world? She loves to make Will laugh but also loves to be bossy. She likes to tell him "Baby Will be quiet" or "Baby Will turn around and play" or "stop it, Baby Will." Will likes to scream in the car. This upsets Addy. She tries to scold him, but he just screams louder. It is quite funny...for me, anyway.

eating cereal

We started Will on solids at around 5 months. He gets excited when we put him in the highchair...and even more excited when he sees the food. He isn't a fan of anything other than rice right now, but we will keep trying. He just had his 6 month well baby check up. He is 16lbs 3oz and 28 1/2inches. This may not mean much to most of you, but he is in the 25th percentile for weight and 95th percentile for height. His percentile keeps dropping for weight, but Dr. Wigert tells me this is normal for breastfed babies.

great day for a wedding

here are a few photos from Lonney and Charlie's back yard. The weather was perfect.

wedding fun

In the first photo, we are at the Captain's Table for Pat and Dacia's rehersal dinner. Next, we had our hair done on the day of the wedding. As you can see, mine turned out great (thanks Sara) as did Addy's. She was very patient. Do you think that bribing her with lolipops had anything to do with her good behavior?!

back on the blog

We will be back soon! I just got my camera card back after lending it to a couple people. Please check back soon!

cutie in pink

Will didn't want to sleep on Friday night, so I put him on the floor in the living room. I was working on Addy's cake in the kitchen and went to check on Will. He had this pink scarf wrapped around his neck and was having a great time playing with it. I thought it was worth a photo or two.

happy birthday Addison!

We celebrated Addison's 2nd birthday yesterday. In the first photo I posted, we are taking time out to enjoy some of the frosting for her cake. The second photo is her cake (made by her mommy), and the last 2 photos are of the "Rose Petal Cottage" she got as a gift. G&G Hoffman purchased the nursery and washer to add to the cottage. It is too cute.

4 months old

Can you believe Will is already 4 months!? He has a well baby check up tomorrow and I am interested in his height and weight since our last visit. At his 2 month check up, he was in the 90th percentile for both height and weight. He eats well, so I am expecting about the same at his next visit. I bought him a doll in NYC. It is a tiny little baby boy. Nick wasn't thrilled, but toys shouldn't be gender specific. I hope he enjoys playing with it in the future.

NYC

I returned 1 week ago from New York City. It was a great chance for me to get away...just what I needed to relax. I now have a new found appreciation for my family, and I hope that Nick has a new outlook on all that I do at home. It was 5 days of just worrying about myself. It was great. I had an awesome time, as you can see in the photos I posted.
